Ensuren developed a Multi-Dimensional Layered Security (MDLS™) model that incorporates security architectures, “best practices”, and products in all layers of a computing environment. Ensuren’s MDLS™ model addresses security by function (i.e., verification, authentication, examination, detection, and encryption) and computing layer (i.e., facility, personnel, and network) and is applicable across all computing environments.

Ensuren’s Standard Security Architecture (SSA™) is based on the MDLS™ and secures control environments by implementing network compartmentalization in parallel with a strategy to secure critical control gateways. Gateways are secured by restricting access using source-destination addressing, ports, and user accounts. The SSA™ works with all Ethernet-based control environments and is fully compliant with standards such as the NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection standard.

Ensuren’s Security Management Suite (SMS™) is a comprehensive suite of products implemented within the SSATM to provide real-time and historical access to security events and alarms within the control environment. Ensuren’s SMS™ is supported by a secured middleware that seamlessly integrates with all security products in the control environment. Events and alarms can be forwarded to third-party system management platforms in parallel with delivery to operator consoles.

Ensuren’s Critical Infrastructure Security Roadmap (CISR™) is a roadmap for implementing its security model, architecture, and product suite to secure control environments and provide comprehensive alarm and event management to the control room. The CSR™ is delivered as a practice, and provides a foundation for defining and sustaining a desired security posture within critical controls
